What is morale? Why was my attack weaker?

When a bigger player (more population) attacks a smaller one, the attack is weakened by up to one third. Morale does not help the attacker.

The effect is full when your attack is at least as strong as the defence. It gets smaller when your attack is weaker than the defence.

Morale also weakens catapults and chiefs of a much bigger attacker. Oases have no morale.

Population means the total of all villages of each player.
