How fast do troops travel?

A group moves at the speed of its slowest unit. Travel time = distance / speed in hours, divided by the world's troop speed (x100 here).

Speed is in fields per hour on a normal (x1) world. On this world divide the time by 100.

Example: 10 fields with Clubswingers (speed 7) take 10 / 7 = 1.43 hours on x1, about 51 seconds here.

The hero moves at the speed of the unit it was trained from.

Faster with: Tournament Square (beyond 30 fields), Boots of the mercenary artifact.

The map wraps around at the edges, so the shortest way may go "over the edge".

Fastest units: Theutates Thunder 19, Pathfinder 17, Equites Legati 16, Druidrider 16. Slowest: catapults 3, rams 4.
