A good build order for the first day

Fields first, storage and cranny next, then Main Building, Barracks and Embassy; use the protection time to grow and raid oases.
  1. All fields to level 2, then Warehouse and Granary to 3.
  2. Rally Point 1, Cranny to 5 or more, Main Building to 3.
  3. Fields to 4-5 (cropland a little lower if crop is positive), Warehouse and Granary up as needed.
  4. Barracks, a small raiding group, Embassy (join an alliance).
  5. Main Building 5, Marketplace, Academy; Residence to 10 for your first settlers.
  6. Grain Mill (needs Cropland 5) and Hero's Mansion; train a hero and raid oases with it.
  7. Cranny to 10 before protection ends.
What works best
  • On x100 the limit is storage, not time. Grow storage with your fields.
  • Culture points come from every building level. A wide, balanced village helps your 2nd village come sooner.
  • Romans: always run a field and a building at the same time.
