How does scouting work?

Send only scouts on a Scout mission. If at least one survives, you see the target's resources, troops, hero, wall level and how much the cranny hides.

Only scouts fight scouts. Each of your scouts has 35 scouting strength, each defending scout 20 (both with upgrades). The defender's wall helps his scouts.

Your scouts die in proportion to the defence. The mission fails only if all your scouts die.

Defending scouts never die.

The defender gets a report only if he has scouts in the village.

Scouting an oasis always works. You see the animals and the resources lying there.

Scout reports have a "Simulate" link that fills the Combat simulator with what you saw.

What works best
  • Scout before every big attack.
  • Keep some scouts at home: they stop enemy scouting and warn you.
