Common beginner mistakes

Full storage, no cranny, attacking a player during protection, sending a hero alone, and too little crop are the most common mistakes.
What works best
  • Letting storage fill up: production stops, and raiders love you.
  • Ending your own protection by scouting or raiding a player too early.
  • Forgetting the Rally Point: you cannot send troops or build Barracks without it.
  • Sending the hero alone into a fight it can lose.
  • Raiding (not attacking) an oasis with the hero and expecting to capture it.
  • Big army, negative crop, empty granary: troops starve.
  • Sending catapults without Rally Point level 10 and expecting to hit the Residence.
  • Keeping a Teuton Brewery while trying to conquer.
  • Spending Gold on "finish now" for long jobs: it costs 1 Gold per minute here.

  • How does the hero fight? HeroThe hero fights with the army it travels with, like a strong extra unit, and its bonus helps only that army. A hero at home defends with the village troops.
  • What happens when my crop runs out? Resources & fieldsWhen the granary is empty and net crop is negative, troops in the village die until consumption fits production. Reinforcements die first, then your own troops, the most crop-hungry first.
  • How do I capture an oasis? OasesSend a normal attack (not a raid) with your hero to a free oasis within 3 fields of your village, kill every animal, and have a Hero's Mansion at level 10 or more.
