How does the cranny work?

All levels: cost, build time and what each level gives »

The cranny hides 3.5% of your storage per level (35% at level 10) of each resource from raiders. Gauls hide twice as much, but never more than 35%.

The share is of your storage capacity: Warehouse for wood, clay and iron, Granary for crop. Example: Warehouse holds 11,800 and the cranny is level 10, so 4,130 of each of wood, clay and iron is safe.

One cranny per village, maximum level 10. It is cheap and fast to build.

Against Teuton attackers the cranny hides only 80% of its amount.

The Rivals' confusion artifact makes it hide more (still at most 35%).

What works best
  • Build the cranny to level 10 before your protection ends.
  • Gauls need only level 5 to reach the 35% maximum.
