Resources & fieldsall topics
- How do resource fields and production work? Each of your 18 fields produces one resource; every level produces more. Fields go to level 10 in normal villages and level 20 in your capital.
- How much can I store? What happens when storage is full? The Warehouse stores wood, clay and iron (each); the Granary stores crop. When storage is full, production stops and anything delivered above the limit is lost.
- Crop and upkeep: who eats my crop?Every point of population eats 1 crop per hour, every soldier eats its upkeep, and the hero eats 6. Crop consumption is not sped up on this world.
- What happens when my crop runs out? When the granary is empty and net crop is negative, troops in the village die until consumption fits production. Reinforcements die first, then your own troops, the most crop-hungry first.
- Where can I see exactly where my production comes from?Click a resource in the top bar or the Production table: the Production page lists base output per field level, every bonus, and crop consumption.
- Sawmill, Brickyard, Iron Foundry, Grain Mill, BakeryThese five buildings add +5% production per level (max level 5, so +25%). Crop can get +50% with both Grain Mill and Bakery.
- How much does an oasis add to production?A captured oasis adds +25% (or +50% crop for a fertile oasis) of the village's base production of that resource. A village can hold up to 3 oases.
- Village types: 4-4-4-6, 9-croppers and 15-croppersEach piece of land has a fixed mix of 18 fields. Everyone starts on a 4-4-4-6; 9-croppers and 15-croppers have far more crop and are great for big armies.
